We have a new PhD student in the group for the last few weeks. Karthika K V just started working in Emilia’s LIDER project.
Karthika graduated with an integrated Master’s degree from the Central University of Tamil Nadu, Thiruvarur, India. Her master’s thesis was about “Intrinsically Coloured Fabrics”, which was based on the photosensitive polymer fluorescein. The ,ajor aims of the project were to synthesise and evaluate self-coloured materials that can be used in the textile industry, but also in energy transfer processes owing to the photoactivity of the monomer for electronic applications of the polymers.
During the next few years Karthika’s work will be focused on developing sensors for electrochemical monitoring of 3D cell-cultures.
